Aircraft Decommissioning Workshop (Classroom, 2 days) |
Currently, about 700 aircraft are retired each year, with a growing trend. If undertaken in a timely and appropriate manner, decommissioning can allow recovery of a good residual value from re-used parts and recycled material, whilst minimizing environmental and safety risks. Timely retirement is an essential part of the fleet renewal process. Today, around 90% of aircraft parts can be re-used or recycled. However, for most airlines and other aircraft owners, such as lessors, limited experience is available on managing aircraft decommissioning as a controlled process. In this 2-day workshop you will receive guidance on business processes, operational experiences and best practices in the industry, reinforced with exercises, discussions, and role play to equip you with the knowledge to optimize the residual value from aircraft decommissioning. This course is available at IATA Training Centers, Regional Training Partner locations, and on-demand as in-company training. |

Carbon Markets, Low Carbon and Sustainable Alternative Fuels (Classroom, 2 days) |
Learn the fundamentals of carbon markets and sustainable alternative fuels (SAF) and their essential roles in the future of aviation. Sustainable alternative fuel and carbon markets are expected to play a larger role for the aviation industry as ICAO Member States begin to implement the Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). This course will allow you to analyze carbon market dynamics, strategies and pricing, and understand the environmental impacts of SAF. Using cost-benefit analysis, you will also learn about the financial implications of SAF to airline operations, supply chain logistics, and emissions trading schemes.

Carbon Markets, Low Carbon and Sustainable Aviation Fuels with ATAG 2019 Global Sustainable Aviation Forum (Classroom, 3 days) |
As ICAO Member States begin to implement the Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), there is growing importance for airlines to have a carbon strategy to ensure their business is not only compliant but also profitable. There are three options to comply with the environmental goals of the industry: eligible carbon offsets; sustainable aviation fuel; and low-carbon aviation fuel that meets the ICAO sustainability criteria. This two-day course will show you the implications of adopting each method, its challenges but also benefits. Participants will be provided with the tools to analyze carbon market dynamics, strategies and break down the low-carbon and sustainable aviation fuels concepts. You will receive a holistic view of each concept, including strategic implications and basic business case assessment. As a unique opportunity, this course offers the participation to the ATAG 2019 Global Sustainable Aviation Forum. Join airlines, airports, ANSPs, manufacturers, suppliers, governments, NGOs and stakeholders for the leading aviation sustainability event of the year. In a one-day event, hear the views of specialists and experts and participate in interactive panel sessions on CORSIA, ICAO’s next steps for CORSIA and aviation’s role in sustainable mobility.

Human Trafficking Awareness Workshop (Classroom, 2 days) |
The global air transport system plays a unique role in connecting businesses to markets, uniting family and friends, bringing people together and facilitating tourism and cultural exchange. In recent years, it has become evident that transnational criminal groups are exploiting this system to traffic women, men and children illegally around the globe. With emerging regulations on trafficking, it is key for you, as aviation staff to understand how you can contribute to fighting this evil crime. Whilst the responsibility to detect, apprehend and prosecute offenders rests with national enforcement authorities, you can provide an important source of additional intelligence when you are able to spot signs of potential trafficking situations. This course is available at IATA Training Centers, Regional Training Partner locations, and on-demand as in-house training. |
